In case you can't tell, E's the one with the hat |

Why, yes: That is a 4-foot burrito. Outrageous! |
This past weekend we celebrated my 30th (old, right?!) with a whole slew of activities. The main event was a big get together at Byington Winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Family, friends, wine, and a Mexican lunch buffet (believe me, a four foot burrito pairs with red
and white). The weather was fantastic. The winery tour was informative and passion-filled ("The ocean breeze caresses the vines"). So much fun.

Drinking & Learning...
College shoulda been this much fun |
My actual bday - Monday - was spent
not at work. Instead I was eating (hello, STACKS), movie watching, and hiking with E, Lisa, and the dogs...just about as perfect as it gets for me!
While I had to go back to work on Tuesday, Lisa and E kept the fun times going with Uncle Mark, Aunt Dasha, and cousins Sara and Haley and a visit to the Oakland Zoo . Lisa showed him all the animals (bats, bears, coyote, etc.) that he'd likely experience around / in Nana and Papa's house when we visit them later this month in the mountains of New Mexico.
In other news: Sunday night Evan logged 6 hours straight, Monday he made it 7 hours, and then Tuesday he hit...wait for it...NINE HOURS of uninterrupted sleep. Of course, last night he went back to 6, but we're proud all the same.
Before we go, some more pics from the winery party:
