New Mexico and Dance Moves!

Sorry for the delay in getting another post up! It's been BUSY-- even by Ballou/Christensen standards.

Since we last spoke, E/Lisa went to Happy Hollow with the Infelises and had a great time. E rode some rides by himself and LOVED the cars ride (obviously).  He might've been too distracted by the steering wheel to notice the ride itself. I wish I could've been there...it looked like a blast.

The biggest news is that we traveled to New Mexico for the long weekend. The trip out there was uneventful and painless. Uncle Shaun met us there and we spent a lot of time with the family -- namely eating or planning meals. It was delicious and fun. Evan especially enjoyed spending time with GG and pushing her walker around. After five nights, it was tough to say goodbye, though the fact that Nana/Papa were headed out to California just a couple of days later made it much easier.

This past weekend was spent hanging out with Nana & Papa. Big'E also attended a friend-from-gym's birthday party and it sounded like a blastin' good time. We hit up the Sunnyvale Art 'n' Wine and he got to ride his car all around the festival. With his brand new hat, he was quite the stud. We finished the weekend with a big, delectable meal at Oma & Opa's.

A quick update on some (of the many) things E has learned.
  • E is taking ten or so steps on his own when he wants to...and he's getting much braver taking a few stumbling steps between couches.
  • He gets more talkative every day and is able to (attempt to) mimic the sounds you make at him. He still "pfft's" when we sees wheels and roars at lions--though he's also added roaring to bears.
  • He's got some fierce dance moves when the moment demands it.
  • In his play kitchen, when asked, "Can I have some coffee?" he will grab the pot and pour you some. Likewise, when he hears, "Orange juice" he'll open up the refrigerator and take a swig from the glass before putting it back.
  • Last night he finally started crawling a little bit--though I still think he'll be running marathons before he's a true crawler.
