Can you believe it? We've been busy since returning home from the Lake Powell trip. Here's some of what we've been up to and the little milestones along the way.
- One hot Saturday, we met the Infelises in Dublin to play at a water/sand park. It was a nice day to get wet. Van and E played and did some art after a delicious lunch at their place.
- There are a couple new additions to the family clan: Cousins Sara and Haley got TWO new kittens, which they named Chocolate Chip and Vanilla. E visited them and loved playing with the kitties, especially using the "feather toy" and having Chocolate Chip chase it.
- It's hard to keep track of all of E's words & development. I swear he points to the letter 'E' and says, "Eeeeee!" He's discovered the joys of spinning around and around. And when we say, "ready, set..." he says, "D'Oh!" (I promise that I don't watch THE SIMPSONS with him).
- This past weekend, we rented a house with the Pilgerams in Monterey. It was a blast. Gavin and E did everything together: Played in the dirt, got out all the toys in the playhouse, visited the nearby construction equipment, played in the dirt again, took baths, and read stories. The adults had fun, too. We cooked good meals and talked/drank wine deep into both nights.
- Though the highlight was visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Again, it's astounding to see the world through new eyes. E *loved* watching the leopard sharks, bat rays, and kelp forests (he may be my son--and a future diver--after all). Though the best part of his day was splashing in the cold water tide pools...which, of course, he kept calling, "hot." We can't wait to go back!
