Mommy & E at the picnic in the Sandia Mountains |
- 5 AM: I get up, shower, make coffee (I'm a French Press guy now), eat and then...
- 5:30 AM: Writing time. I try to get my fix while E and Mommy sleep or nurse.
- 7 or 7:30 AM: E wakes up for the day and we wish Mommy luck as she leaves for work :(. We change diapers and clothes. Then play time (which includes, but not limited to: dancing, toys, funny faces, etc.).
- Around 8 or 8:30: E's ready for his first bottle.
I know he's pretending it's Mommy |
- 9 AM-ish: lil'E, the dogs, and I roam around the neighborhood. We really must be a sight. A stroller, two dogs, and me walking block after block. At first, E soaks in all there is to see, but soon, he's out (hence the never ending walking).
- 10 or 10:30 AM: Most the time, E wakes up a bit grumpy, so this is the point where I hold him or use the carrier and he helps me with chores. After a diaper change, of course.
- 11 AM: Another bottle, daddy! And while he's full and happy playing in the gym or swinging, I get the diaper bag prepped and ready.
- 11:30 AM: After a diaper change (notice a trend?), we leave to meet Mommy or friends for lunch. Most the time, E takes a catnap on the drive.
- 1 PM: Run post-lunch errands.
- 2 PM: Home in time for another change and bottle.
- 3 PM: Nap time (a.k.a time for me to desperately get some chores done or emails written or...well, you get the idea).
- Anywhere between 3:30 and 4:30 PM: Wake up! Diaper change. Maybe a bottle. More play time. Lots of smiles. Sometimes a second walk with the dogs, though E prefers the carrier for this stroll.
- 5:30 PM: Anxiously awaiting Mommy to get home! Once she does, it's baby/Mommy time while I take care of the dogs and get dinner prepped. E eats his dinner now, nursing like a madman.
- Around 6:30 PM: The lil'man plays in his gym or swings while we eat.
- 7 PM: More mommy/baby time. I'm sure there's a few diaper changes in there.
- 7:45 PM-ish: Mommy bathes E, gets him in his PJs with a new diaper, gives him a nighttime suckle, and then puts him in his crib. Lately, he's fallen asleep the moment he's in there.
- 8 - 10:30 PM: Lisa and I clean up around the house, watch TV, write more, do blog posts, and definitely stare at the lil'miracle in the crib.
- 10:30 or 11 PM: We crash. Hard.
- And repeat....
E, E's cheeks, and me on our afternoon walk |
As a parting thought to today's blog post, I'd like to share a picture of me when I was three months old. From left to right we have: GG, Nana, Nana's hair, & me.
Though, seriously, are there any doubts who the father is?
Whoops, I better go. Time for a bottle!
My mom had the exact same hairdo as Denise when I was a baby!
