SIx Outfits!

Yay! Auntie Alison is getting married.
(Outfit #1)
Our first overnight road trip as a family was an overwhelming success!

I'll do a quick summary of the trip, but instead of using standard time posts (AM, PM, evening, etc.), I'll break it up by the outfit number E was in...yep, you guessed it: he went through a ton.

Outfit #1:
Saturday morning Lisa bathed and dressed the lil'man while I took care of the dogs and packed the car. Only about an hour late, we hit the road...though not before getting a hot coffee. The drive was uneventful and we made it to Murphys just as the Bachelorette party picked up sandwiches at a local deli. E decided that he was also hungry, so Lisa nursed him...which is when he decided he was sick of his current outfit and really preferred...

Girls, the entertainment has arrived.
(Still in Outfit #1, but not for long)
Outfit #2:
After a parking lot change of everything, the girls headed to the wineries and the little man and I went downtown so daddy could get some food. One thing about city designers in the mid-1800s, they didn't account for stroller access, but we managed just fine and ended up at the Murphys Historic Hotel & Saloon for lunch. Evan was the hit of the waitstaff. Both of us full, we found a community park by the river in the shade and we decided to stay there and watch the little kids swim. Eventually, the little man decided he was hungry again, so I gave him a bottle. Which is when he decided he was sick of his current outfit and would rather wear...

In Outfit #2 at lunch.
Outfit #3:
Another thing about city designers in the mid-1800s, is they didn't really consider changing stations for daddy. But we improvised, and found nice shady spot in the far corner of the park. Grabbing a frozen yogurt, we strolled around town for a while until we found a coffee shop and we decided to work on the laptop there for while. Pretty soon we got a call from mommy and found out that she was downtown with the girls. They invited us to come along to the last two tasting rooms. We shut the last one down, or Evan did, because he decided it was time to eat again. Our hotel ended up being about a 45 minute drive away, so we headed there for Lisa to drop E & me off before her fancy dinner. On the way, we picked up cupcakes from a shop which won CUPCAKE WARS on the FOOD NETWORK. I had chocolate with mint frosting and Lisa had vanilla custard. Both were delicious. Once we arrived at the hotel, Lisa fed E again (boy, that guy was hungry) while I got all his stuff put together. After she was done, we changed into his PJs which was...

At the park...Outfit #3 is still clean.
Outfit #4
Lisa left to make the long trek back to Murphys for her nice dinner with the girls. E fell right asleep and did very well except for a slight meltdown at 11. I was unprepared and had to heat up a bottle while he hollered. Frantic, I turned on every faucet in hopes to drown out the noise. The last thing I wanted was the manager coming to the door, asking me to keep my baby quiet. Like how do you do that? Once he got the bottle though, everything was fine and he slept the rest the evening, not even stirring when Lisa got home. The next morning we put him in his travel clothes which was...

Fast asleep in Outfit #4.
Outfit #5
After a good breakfast at the hotel restaurant, we were about to check out when Evan decided that he was not in any proper traveling clothes and required...

Outfit #6
We made it within a mile of our house before E woke up and decided that he was starving, making the last few minutes stressful. But we made it. And I call that a successful trip. But good thing he liked Outfit #6 because I think we only had one more.

Sorry, this is Outfit #3 again. Outfit #5 didn't last long enough for a picture
and I forgot to get one of Outfit #6. But trust me, he wore them.
Why would I make something like this up?
