Gamer Babe!

The weekend started out with E's six month check up Friday at lunch. His doc was very happy with his growth (17 lbs, 7 oz and 26") and development. He got his shots, which weren't a lot of fun for any party involved. But he was a trooper and calmed once it was over and he got to nurse (already a member of this family - food soothes all ailments). That evening we had our monthly birthday dinner with our family friends and watched the Giants win...assuring them another game in a series back at home.

Saturday we met some friends at the local farmer's market around lunch time and then poked around the house for the afternoon until it was time for...Evan's six-month portraits at Sears (thanks be to Groupon). I'm sure the photographer tells this to all the newby parents, but she said that he was "the smiliest six month old" she'd ever seen. Afterward, we had Oma, Opa, and Uncle Brian over for pulled pork sandwiches. We also gave the lil'critter his first bites of solid foods (baby oatmeal...yep, he's part Christensen). He wasn't really sure about the texture at first, but by yesterday afternoon he no longer cried after the initial bites. So here's to small victories!

Sunday, E and I hung out in the morning while Lisa taught Sunday School. Around lunchtime, Oma, Opa, Lisa, Uncle Brian, and lil'E left for...GAME 6 of the Giants vs. Cardinals! (Please note whose name is missing from that list...yep, MINE!). After much internal struggle, I decided to save some money and sent the rest of the family off to the game. I consoled myself by going to see a movie and watching the game on TV with the dogs, drinking (much cheaper) beer and eating leftover sandwiches. It was a great game and I loved getting the pics messages from the family as they watched a victory. E really must be their good luck charm because he cheered them into the World Series last night!

This weekend is going to be another big one...with a visit from Auntie 'Ness!
