Reader beware: Sappy, Hallmark-ish card below (and not the funny Shoebox kind) - but it's heartfelt and true...so consider yourself warned.
Happy BIRTHDAY, Lisa!
Thanks for being the best wife/mother/dog-mom that a guy/baby/two red-devil dogs could ask for. You're patient, understanding, and the most loving person on the face of the planet (this isn't hyperbole - I've done studies).
I knew from the moment that we went on our first date (jeez, 9.5 years ago) that I wanted to marry you. Later, seeing how you instantly became an amazing dog-mom gave me an inkling of the mother you'd be. And now that E's joined our pack, it's incredible: You haven't exactly changed, but you've become more Lisa - more loving, more considerate, and more understanding. Though you've retained the same cutting wit, sass, and near complete lack of pop culture knowledge (c'mon, you gotta have a flaw to be endearing).
I can't wait to continue this adventure of life with you and the rest of our clan. Just thinking about all the family/friend events, wild trips, and overall challenges we'll be experiencing together makes me so excited (and a little exhausted). There's literally no one else I'd rather be doing it all with...which, again, isn't hyperbole - I've done studies.
Ok, sap-fest over. Now, for a quick update since we last spoke:
- President Obama was re-elected (and E wore is only political - though unbiased - onesie)
- We were crazy busy with work and Lisa feeling under-the-weather. But we managed and things calmed by the weekend.
- Saturday we had a fun family b-day dinner for Lisa.
- Sunday was sad as we said bye to Auntie 'Ness until Xmas.
- E has become an absolute champ at sitting...he can now wave his arms madly, laugh, and stay balanced all at the same time - which even I have trouble with sometimes.
Now, who wants some cake?
