I Did It!

Phew, this last week went much more smoothly with Lisa working her way back to 100%. And it was especially fun with Tante Ness still in town (though she was out of town for the weekend itself). We started off the weekend per our Friday night family tradition of dinner on the town. More and more, E's participating in eating with the family, although we brought his oatmeal, pureed sweet potatoes, whole peas and puffed stars while the rest of us chowed down on our Red Robin burgers'n'fries. Mostly, he still enjoys being fed by us, but he's starting to get the hang of putting the stars and peas in his own mouth (we're still going to handle the spoons for now).

Saturday morning, the lil'man and I walked to Starbucks and Walgreens while Lisa got the house ready for the day's main event: Lunch with Auntie Noni! She arrived for lunch and we had a great couple of hours catching up as she got her baby/dog fix. That evening, E and Uncle Brian hung out while the rest of us went to an annual crab feed fundraiser at Oma's high school alma mater. Originally, we were going to bring E too, but after the previous Friday's cioppino debacle, we thought everyone would have a better time if Uncle Brian babysat. I think we were right.

After Lisa/Oma's Sunday School class and coffee with the family, I took E to his Gym class (this week's theme: Tunnels). He had a great time. Then it was off to Uncle Mark/Aunt Dasha's to play with Sara and Haley...oh and watch a certain football game. It was fun texting with our East Coast family, who live in (or are from) the Baltimore area since the 49ers were battling it out with the Ravens...especially as San Francisco battled their way to within a touchdown of winning. It was not as much fun in the end when the Niners didn't get those needed points and ultimately lost. In general, E had a good time, though our sudden outbursts of emotion/yelling while watching the pretty TV lights were perplexing and maybe a little scary for him.

This week's been good so far. Tante Ness and Opa have been taking good care of E. He's even scooted the length of the coffee table on his own two feet while holding on...in order to get the TV remote. Suddenly, he's having more fun with Tummy Time (i.e. doesn't scream the moment he flops on his stomach). It appears (knock on wood) that this bout of teething is over (no really, knock on wood) as his overall mood is bubbly, giggling, and cooing baby boy again. My favorite story from Opa/Tante Ness so far this week was when he pressed the button of one is his toys, grinned, and babbled, "Ididdit." Which they're convinced translated to his first complete sentence, "I did it!"

Ah, our brilliant baby boy!
