Mommy's Home!

Hi!

Well, it's been busy with an up-and-coming walker in the household. In related news, he's starting to crawl too (though he shows more aptitude on two feet, than on all fours).

The busiest part was the fact that Lisa had to take her first business trip. She was gone for a total of 5 nights and although Evan, the dogs, and I survived, life is a lot more fun with Mommy around! I think it was especially hard on Lisa, but luckily we Skyped once or twice a day and E/Mommy had fun playing and singing and "talking" over the airwaves.  Sad part aside, I do have to say that I'm so thankful to have had that time to bond with the big guy.  Evan and I even enjoyed a couple of bachelor nights. The first with Ceto and Tim coming over for dinner. The second over at Roger, Rowan, and Cid's place (Sarah was also gone). Lisa made it home on Friday night in time for a happy greeting and then to put the rascal to bed...a little late.

The weekend was all about fun. Saturday morning was all about Mommy and him bonding again, which included a jog, errands, and a haircut. That evening we visited the Pilgerams to introduce Oma and Opa to two-month-old, Nora. The meal was delicious and it was fun catching up in their beautifully re-landscaped backyard.  It was fun to get Gavin and Evan together again.

Sunday, Father's day, was fantastic. After church, Lisa, E, and I went to get sourdough french toast and then for a little Father's day gift shopping! After his nap, we went to go see our neighbor in a (short) children's production of Winnie the Pooh. E loved the singing and dancing, though got a little antsy if there was too much talk-talk-talking.  Then we were off to a big celebration for dinner with a family taco night at Oma/Opa's. The whole crew was there and we tacked on a few birthday celebrations too (including mine).

We're still in swimming lessons this week, which is as fun as ever. He loves it, especially the splashing part. There's been lots of progress on kick-kick-kicking as well as a little bit of arm work. He's getting slightly better at being on his back, though a far cry from any floating action. And he still prefers to drink the pool water *yuck* rather than blow bubbles.

Until next time, folks!
