Daddy's Birthday!

Highlights since last post:

  • I turned 31! Which sounds much, much older than 30 to me. Oh well, you can't stop getting older, so it's best to wrap it in a bear hug. I took the day off work (no one should have to work on their bday) and spent the morning with E. We took a long walk with the dogs, went to the park for a swing, and ate at one of my favorite restaurants. In the afternoon, I took myself to a movie and then met the family and our good friend Noni for a delicious dinner. A perfect day.

  • E continues his walking...though he's not running around the house yet (though coming soon), he's willing to venture forth on his own across the kitchen or between pieces of furniture if there's no easy route to "cruise" and all the grown ups are occupied.
  • He's also crawling much better, as long as there's some extreme motivation (aka the ball is too far away) and again, all the adults are busy. Though he's still better at and prefers walking.
  • He learned how to stand up in his crib. For the longest time now, he didn't realize this was in his capacity. Since this elightenment, it's been much harder to get him asleep. *Sigh* It had to happen sometime. Because really, it'd be embarrassing as an adult if you had to have someone stand you up every morning.
  • Saturday was full of parties. One at a park for E's friend Landen. And another at Gymboree for one of his gym friends. Both were a blast.
  • Sunday, Lisa and I attended the Giants game against the Marlins as my birthday-and-our-belated-anniversary-date . Oddly, it was raining - though not hard and it wasn't cold. And while the G-men didn't win, it was a fun game and we enjoyed it (although we did miss E while Opa/Oma watched him). The weekend wrapped up with a nice dinner at their house with Auntie Janis (though somehow, I didn't get a picture of her and E!)
