Uh-Oh!

Since the last we spoke, here are some highlights:
*Deep breath*

  • E's adoption of the words "Uh-oh" and "Hot" (which he uses as commentary for anything temperature related, regardless of the actual temperature). Lisa claims she's heard him say, "toast"...though this has not been independently confirmed.
  • He *sort of* mimics the sound of a fire truck.
  • A handful of BBQs, family get-togethers, birthday parties, and baby showers--yep, multiples of each.
  • Technically a lowlight, but Nana and Papa headed home for New Mexico. Our house is significantly more boring without them and their dogs.

  • Several weeks ago, during Tante Ness' visit, she showed him her 'Turkey face' though he'd never do it back to her. He's facetime'd with her a few times since, but not too often and none of us have been keeping with the 'Turkey face training'. Then on Saturday, he's suddenly doing the face at me. How in the heck did he come up with this expression again? Three theories. (1) He's got a much better memory than I give him credit for, (2) he's been secretly facetiming Tante Ness after he goes to bed, or (3) this funny face is genetic. Honestly, I don't know which option scares me the most.

  • E regularly seeks out his doggies to give them 'pets' and it melts mi'lil'heart each time.
  • While running errands E and I discovered some new fascinating places to visit. First, Sports Basement to scale the fake mountain (normally used to test drive hiking shoes) and a visit to the village of tents. Second, 'the zoo' (PetCo) to get up close and personal with the birds, fish, rodents, reptiles, and other furry creatures.

  • E's becoming a roller coaster junkie. Last week alone he visited Happy Hollow with Oma, Opa, and Uncle Brian, where his obsession remains the Police Car/Fire Truck ride. Then on Sunday, we accompanied the Balyons to Gilroy Gardens. He loved the Race Car and Fishy rides, but the mini-water park was hands down the favorite. Luckily, we were told to bring his swimsuit. Not as lucky: I didn't bring mine for chasing him though the fountains, water guns, and wet kiddos.
Phew, caught up.
*Wipes forehead*
