Ice!

I'm pretty sure E has his first actual word (vs. a sound he makes for things, such as the 'pffft' he makes for cars). And the word is..."ICE". Yep, ice. Opa has been telling me for a week or two that each time he goes to the refrigerator's ice machine, he would say something that suspiciously sounded like "ice." Over the weekend, I was holding him at a fast food place, filling up my cup with ice when E looked over at me, grinned, and proclaimed, "ICE!" He will point to a person's glass anytime you ask him, "Where's the ice?" Now, I'm not sure where he picked this up--it's not as if we use the word ice much more than the average family, but it's an exciting milestone anyhow. (Though I always thought/hoped "Mama" or "Dada" would come first.). He's also saying, "hiya" for 'hello' and "nana" for both his Nana and a banana.

The weekend was very nice. The big event being Saturday's Annual Metsers' pool party. It was packed with good food, good people, and good fun (as always). E got to show off all his bubble blowing and kick-kick-kicking skills learned from swimming lessons. The trampoline jump with the Balyon boys was also a hit, as was Uncle Ron taking home the ping pong championship trophy. Though the best, by far, was walking through the curtain of plastic flowers. It was so much fun that Aunt Vicki gave them to us as a party favor (in addition to the 100 lbs of leftover desserts).

Sunday was low key. For breakfast, E had his first (of many, I'm sure) Mickey Mouse pancake--which he loved. While Lisa attended a friend's birthday party, my parents, E, and I took the dogs to the Lake House to see their progress. Man! All the work they've done looks great. We then visited the Morgan Hill dog park and it was one of the best dog parks I've seen. Once Lisa got home, we had a nice dinner at a little Mexican joint we hadn't tried.

This week's been busy, too. Last night we attended the neighborhood block party and got to visit/meet all the fantastic folks that we wave to every day, but truly don't know too well at all. Good times.
