It's been quite a task digging out from our trip--laundry, xmas cleanup, finding places for all of E's new toys, etc. That aside, we've peppered life with plenty of fun too: Family meals (in which E discovered his love of "flah-fulls", aka waffles), trips to Costco, enjoying the unusually warm weather, and getting the house ready for the new baby. Okay, cleaning out the garage might not technically be fun or officially needed in order to be ready for the lil'girl, BUT the progress felt great. And we had a fun-fun-fun pizza dinner with the Balyons.
One of the fun highlights from the last couple of weeks was a visit to Happy Hollow with the Pilgerams. While it was the coolest, most overcast day we've had since returning from New Mexico, it was a blast all the same. E and his buddy G rode all the rides they could together, several times. Everyone chatted and played as we ate our picnic lunch. And the boys had a blast feeding leaves to the goats at the petting zoo.
Other than that, business is returning to normal. E continues to amaze us with his daily developments.
- He's mastered the concept of 'Almost' and it cracks us up every time we hear it.
- He and the dogs continue to be best friends and my heart melts every time we come home and he runs to the back door, saying, 'Hi, boys.' And he loves it when they come over for a 'pet' during dinner (though we all know it's to search for any bites E may have missed).
- Now that Lisa's pregnancy is getting farther along, E is having trouble sitting on her lap for the nightly songs. The other night he patted her tummy and said, "This is too big".
- The other morning, I attempted to hand him a book and he said, "No." Which he does sometimes without giving it a proper chance, so I tried again. He responded, "I said, 'no'."
