The Toddler has the Remote!

The reason I haven't posted for a while is that nothing has been happening.

HA!

Did I have you going even for a nanosecond? No. Hey, can't blame a guy for trying.

The truth is that it just keeps getting busier. The kids. The jobs. The dogs. Everything. Sometimes it feels like J got her hands on the remote and is smashing the fast forward from 2x to 4x to 8x and on and on ...which is why I write this blog -- even if no one out there ever reads it -- I love taking a minute to pause, sort through the endless pics / videos, and then reflect.

Anyhow. On with the show.

The day after Disneyland, we hit a milestone that I still have trouble fathoming: E went to his first day of preschool. Interestingly, the SAME preschool that Lisa attended back, ummm, several years ago. He's having a great time there and is learning an incredible amount. For instance, he can spell his name already and the other day he showed us how to write both an upper and lower case 'B'.

Speaking of the letter 'B,' Nana & Papa (aka The B Team) came for another visit -- this time to relieve Oma & Opa so they could go visit Alaska. The kids, as always, had a fantastic time with The B Team. They went to San Francisco, the Children's Discovery Museum, and a different aviation museum...

...Over one weekend: we hit up Tilden park for a picnic, farm, and train ride...

...Another day with lunch and paddle boating on Shoreline Lake...

...A day trip to meet up with a lot of friends who were camping at Half Moon Bay (next year we'll be campers, too, I promise! It looked like so much fun)...

...and a concert picnic at Savannah Chanelle Winery.

Once we said, "Bye," to Nana & Papa (this trip)...

We hit the normal routines involving swimming & gymnastics, parks...

...Art & Wine festivals and other rides...

...Giants games with the kids (J's first, where we lost to the Diamondbacks -- boo! -- though we had the best seats from Lisa's boss)...

...Having the Huis watch the kiddos while we went to Janis' retirement brunch (Congrats, Auntie Janis!)...

...Trips to the pet store...

...and just generally good times.

Alright, I better go find J before she makes things speed up any faster...or turns the default language to Cantonese...or whatever kids manage to do when they have the remote and aren't afraid to use it.
