Three Boys!

For all those folks out there who're raising (or have raised) twins or triplets:
Hats off.

Lil'E and Lil'Cid
On Friday night, Rogèr and Sarah went to a concert as part of his 30th birthday celebration. We agreed to watch their boys, Cid (8 days older than E) and Rowan (20-ish months). Of course, we used our entire arsenal of help...a.k.a Opa, Oma, and Uncle Brian. It was quite the party. Opa fixed a fantastic dinner for us, and Rowan chowed down. E and Cid had a lot of fun "playing together." For those of you who don't know or don't remember, 4-month-olds "playing" entails a lot of staring, a few arm flails, and hopefully a couple smiles. It was a blast. Though, the sort of blast that one has in Vegas...a place you want to visit, but maybe not inhabit.

I love ya, bro
After a relaxing morning at home, we took off just before lunch on Saturday to drive out to Carmel Valley for Rogèr's 30th b-day BBQ (man, that guy knows how to celebrate). It's funny to see how much things have changed in past couple years. Every couple at the party either had a baby or had a baby on the way. It makes me happy that we have such fun, genuine people to step through this new chapter with. The party was fun (except watching the Giants lose to the Dodgers) and the food was delicious. Late in the afternoon, we headed home and just relaxed.

Rog and Rowan
Sunday we went to church and then lil'E and I had several hours of Mr. Mom time while Lisa was at a training. The afternoon flew by with a bunch of chores and then (another!) fantastic dinner at Oma/Opa's. Seriously, we're S-P-O-I-L-E-D. One of these days, we'll return the favors...or attempt to.

Anyhow, now we're back in the work week, counting down the minutes until next weekend!

Being a Baby-thug is hard work
So for a quick E development update:
Upon first meeting lil'E, people still check Lisa's eyes and my eyes to see which one of us has his big blues. Which, of course, is neither. His hair is coming in so fast that I feel it's thicker each evening when I pick him up from Opa's. Also, he's discovered a number of exciting things recently.
  • First, splashing in the tub is great fun. Especially when you soak Mommy. It's about time we start putting his little tub in the big tub or issuing a warning about the splash zone.
  • Second, given lots of time, thought, and encouragement...he can mimic us doing a "motor boat noise"...sort of.
  • Third, he loves his Johnny Jump Up, though for him, at this point, it's more of a Johnny Sit'n'Hang.
  • Finally, he's really getting the hang of grabbing things - toys, blankets, jewelry, hair. Even more so when he thinks he can get them into his mouth.
What will he think of next?

Splish-SPLASH!
Johnny Jump Up or Johnny Sit'n'Hang?
Either way: lots of FUN!
