The Lake House!

The big news is that Nana & Papa bought a house in California! More specifically, in Morgan Hill...close to Anderson Lake. They're not moving out here right away and will rent the place for some time, but still...we're THRILLED that their long term plans will be within 30 minutes of us! The house is beautiful, unique, and walking distance to the water.

They (and cousin dogs Belle & Beau) arrived here on Thursday for an extended stay with us to take care of house stuff. So it's been a wild'n'crazy household--though it's wonderful to have the laundry, dinner, and dog walking fairies back. And E is enamored with both of them. And it seems like they like him too...a little. They remark often about how well he's walking, how much he understands, and all of the little *almost* word-type noises he's making. One of their favorite new tricks (and ours) is when we finish his Batman book which says, "Batman is Brave. So are you." And the little guy always points to himself.

On Saturday, Lisa stayed home with E for the morning while my parents, Gary, and I went to the Morgan Hill house (henceforth, "the Lake House") and touched up paint, cleaned, etc. That evening E stayed with Uncle Ron, Aunt Vicki, and Kristi while we went out for a nice adult dinner. It sounds as though E was well behaved, though for some reason he is scared of Aunt Vicki--which breaks my heart because she's so nice and wants him to like her so much. But I've been telling people that he's also terrified of the Easter Bunny, so (at least) she is in good company. I know it's just a phase, but he's not acting as brave as Batman, is he?

Sunday afternoon, Lisa hosted a "Jewelry Party" at our place. So the morning was all about getting things ready. We picked up, rearranged, mowed, weeded, planted, and generally ran around like crazy. E and I got some bonding time at his baby gym class before he got dropped off at Opa's house for the afternoon. Then Papa and I took all 4 dogs down to the Lake House for an exhausting game of swim'n'catch.

Getting home in time to pick over the leftovers from Lisa's wildly successful party, we had just enough time to feed the dogs before heading over to Oma & Opa's for burgers with Uncle Ron & (scary) Aunt Vicki. A fun and delicious way to wind down the weekend and get ready for our next round of swim lessons, which started Monday!
